Inscription.
In 1950, the old street lights were torn down and replaced with cement posts, which were, in turn, replaced during the redevelopment in 1967. In the 1980s, all the street lamps were removed and replaced with just nine, 60 foot tall, stadium-style masts. As the trees grew, however, they blocked the lights, casting huge shadows on the streets at night. In 2005, the MSPA lobbied the city of Glendale to replace those lights with reproductions manufactured from the same molds as the original Montrose street lamps.

Erected by Montrose Shopping Park Association, Historical Society of the Crescenta Valley, and Boy Scout Troop 317.
