At 23, Steen moved to the U.S. and began his own truck driving career. His distinguished 49 years on the road include 5.34 million accident-free miles! His dedication to safety has been recognized through many accolades and awards, including the 2007 Colorado Motor Carriers Association Driver of the Year.
Steen is a seasoned professional who believes in respect and courtesy to others. He has been an ambassador for the Trucker Buddy program since 2000, sharing his love and knowledge of the trucking industry with local elementary students.
In 2006, Steen became a U.S. citizen. He is proud to be a part of this country and of having earned the right to vote in it.
The Citizen Driver program was developed to celebrate the best of the best in the trucking industry. This honor recognizes Drivers who earn public respect for the industry through good citizenship, safety, community involvement, health and wellness and leadership.
