1. Breeds of Dairy Cattle Marker

Inscription. Dairy cows are bred for their ability to produce milk from which dairy foods are made. There are seven major breeds of dairy cattle.

Ayrshire

They are rusty-red and white in color.
Historically, these cows were known for their horns which could curve.
This breed was brought to America around 1800 from the county of Ayr in Scotland.

Guernsey

Range from fawn to golden in color.
Titled "Golden Guernsey" because of their rich golden milk color.
Their milk color is due to high levels of beta carotene (a source of vitamin A) in the milk.
