Inscription.
In the late 1940's, the local Booster Club and the American Legion post held community fund raising events to secure the $400 needed for Moravia's first fire siren. The emergency siren was placed on top of the Masonic Building and put into operation in 1949. Commonly referred to as the "noon whistle," the faithful siren was retired in 1995 and was moved to the Historical Complex to display in honor of longtime volunteer fireman and member of the Moravia Historical Society, Ellis Paxton.

Erected by Moravia Historical Complex.
