1. Loblolly Pine Tree Marker
Inscription. The Loblolly Pine (Pinus taeda) is sometimes called North Carolina pine or Indian pine. The name itself means depression. Loblolly pines are fast growing and are used for furniture, plywood, posts, crates, boxes, and other wooden structures. The southern Iroquois tribes often called this tree Annedda, while the northern Iroquois tribes called it "ohnehta" for white pine.
