Inscription. American Indian Leader and Negotiator
Considered one of the greatest American Indian chiefs in the early history of the U.S. Tecumseh grew up in various Shawnee towns near Dayton. He led a large tribal confederacy to assist Britain in the War of 1812 in order to protect Native American lands.
