Inscription. This marker commemorates the
Natchitoches - Natchez Road
Harrisonburg Road
which connected El Camino Real, San Antonio Trace, and Natchez Trace. The old route followed generally LA Highway 6 and U.S. 84. It crossed Red River at the Saint Maurice Ferry 8 miles from here, 4 miles from Clarence.
