Inscription.
Hardy taught in one-room schools in Preble County, graduated from Antioch College, and served as Principal of the Eaton Grade School. She became a teacher at Oakland, CA, High School, and then a professor at Stanford University.

Her autobiography and books of poetry portray her literary talents and her extraordinary life as an independent woman in the 19th century.

Inducted into the Hall of Honor July 3, 2016
