Inscription. Renaissance woman and owner of Bunker Hill House and General Store in Fairhaven, Hawes was an artist and art instructor, musician, antique collector, historian and photographic preservationist, and banker for families and businesses in Fairhaven. She supported charities and Fairhaven Presbyterian Church, traveled widely throughout the USA and Mexico via train and stagecoach, and maintained, Bunker Hill House for future generations.
