1. Archaic 8000-1000 B.C. Marker

Inscription. Archaic people continued the hunter-gatherer lifestyle of their Paleo-Indian ancestors. As their numbers grew and the climate warmed, they moved over smaller areas and exploited diverse resources, including wild game, seeds, nuts, and fish. They occasionally traded for goods such as flint, copper, and marine shells, from distant regions.
