Sachs-Prudens Brewing Company/Dayton Breweries Company. . The Pritz and Kuhns Company property on the Miami Erie Canal was purchased in 1888 by the Sachs-Prudens Brewing Company. During the same year, the Sachs-Prudens Brewing Company constructed a new building on the property for its brewery. The four story building was a fire-resistant structure with steel joists and girders throughout. The brewery was run using two fifty horse-power boilers, and had a cellar capacity of 15,000 barrels of ale. The brewery produced English-style ale and lager beer, as well as ginger ale and successful medicinal products such as Saline Lemonade in a separate bottling plant nearby. In 1895 the Dayton Brewing Company purchased Sachs-Prudens Brewing Company.
