1. Gate House - Marker
Inscription. The Ontario Power Generating Station gate house is erected over six-metre-diameter conduits which carry water 1.8km to the plant located on the river's edge, just downstream of the Falls. This generating station, commissioned in 1905, was the first major alternating current generator on the Canadian side of the Niagara River.

The marker is on the Trans-Canada Trail, just north-east of the old gate house for the Ontario Power Company, and at the west end of a 70 metre bridge that takes the Trans-Canada Trail over a stretch of water.
