Inscription. Z.T. Crouch, Webb School employee, built this house in 1913 on a plat deeded from W. R. (Sawney) Webb. The home of H. Pearl and Virginia Wright Sain from 1959 till 1995, it was also the site of Sain Stables from 1960 to 1973. Shaker's Shocker was trained here by owner Elizabeth F. (Betty) Sain to become Tennessee Walking Horse World Grand Champion on Sept. 3, 1966 in Shelbyville, TN. Betty was the first woman rider to win the championship.
