1. The Roger Harlan Memorial Skate Park Marker

Inscription. Roger E. Harlan was born on June 28, 1935, and passed away on January 5, 2010. He was a Young Life minister by profession and a natural statesman, serving on the Park City Council all but four years from 1992 to 2009. His lifelong focus was youth and his commitment to providing quality recreational opportunities for them is demonstrated by the development, construction, and expansion of this state-of-the-art skate park. His mischievousness, love of life, practical jokes, and most of all, ability to laugh at himself were all attributes that made him genuine, well loved, and an effective mentor.

The grass roots beginnings of the skate park emerged in the early 1990s and the dream was finally realized on July 4, 2001. The Park was expanded in 2006 to 30,000 square feet; its size and design makes it one of the highest ranked parks in the region.

Roger touched everyone who had the opportunity to know him, and his memory lives through this popular facility, dedicated on June 26, 2010, which will be enjoyed by residents and visitors for many years to come.
