This tank was renamed to honor Middletown resident
Cornelius (Neil) French Jr. Mr. French was a gunner
of the 4th Armored [Division] 37th Tank Battalion C Company
manning the 'Casey Jones'. It was the second tank to
enter Bastogne. Mr. French was awarded several medals
for his service during World War II including two Purple hearts.
