1. Anchor Windlass Marker
Inscription. This anchor windlass was mounted on the forward deck of large sailing vessels to raise their heavy anchors. It was mounted in a strong frame and used a rachet device to rotate the shaft to lift and recover the anchors and lines.

It is on Point Road east of Spruce Trailways Road, on the left when traveling east. From the parking lot at the trailhead, follow the trail towards Sturgeon Point Lighthouse about 400 feet.
