Inscription. Here assembled on the night of June 16th, 1775, 1200 Continental troops under command of General Prescott. After prayer by President Langdon they marched to Bunker Hill.

Regarding Continental Troops Assembled. 16 June 2025 was the 250th anniversary of the overnight march from Cambridge to Bunker Hill in Charlestown, in 1775. The American commander was Colonel (not General) William Prescott of Groton and Pepperell, MA. His statue stands in Charlestown at the base of the Bunker Hill Monument.
