Regarding 1953-2003 In Celebration Of The 50th Anniversary. "The Twenty" was an early name of the settlement here, now Jordan. The name derives from the creek-name, Twenty Mile Creek. Creek number-names were "miles west of the Niagara River" - convenient when Lake Ontario ships were the easiest way to get around.
