1. The Saw Mill 1816 - Marker

Inscription. The saw mill was constructed in 1816 along the Twenty Mile Creek. Timber was harvested on site, cut and brought to the saw mill to be made into lumber.

This lumber was sold to the surrounding villages and towns for the construction of many local houses and buildings.

Unlike the grist and woollen mills, this mill was not significant in size and did not employ many labourers.

The saw mill closed in the early 1900s, after operating for more than sixty years.
