Inscription.
Consecrated in 1863, St. Boniface Cemetery was the first of the "German" cemeteries in Chicago and contains the burials of the builders of the German Catholic community.

St. Boniface features a Civil War monument within the northwest portion of the cemetery.

The cemetery underwent extensive renovation in the 1960's, including removal of the old archway at the Clark Street entrance.

At that time, the interment chapel, cemetery office and service building were constructed on property acquired to the north.

Although there is no longer any grave space available at Saint Boniface Cemetery, our other Catholic Cemeteries in the area will be able to assist you.
