1. Warren House Marker

Inscription.
Built in 1866 for Mary Agatha West Norwood
In 1903, the Administrators of the Tulane Educational Fund purchased this house to serve as a residence hall for students of the H. Sophie Newcomb Memorial College, the college for women within Tulane University. The house was named "Warren House" in memory of Warren Newcomb, deceased husband of Josephine Louise Newcomb, benefactress of the College. In 1918, the College moved to its home on Broadway Avenue. A new "Warren House" was constructed in 1928.
