Shaler Battery
The Battery is marked by the bandstand.
The Shaler Battery was one of 28 artillery batteries that were built on the Northern Kentucky hilltops from 1861 to 1863. The Shaler Battery was named after Dr. Nathaniel Burger Shaler, a Kentucky physician, who donated his familys hilltop vineyard to support the Union. It remains the site of the Shaler Battery.
