Inscription.
Officers Gordon McAllister and Harry Davis died at this location on May 20, 1945. The officers had attempted to stop a suspect for speeding around 6:10 a.m. The suspect driver forced their vehicle into a tree, causing both men to receive fatal injuries. A civilian who was riding with the officers received serious injuries. Officer McAllister had served for one year. He was survived by his wife and four children. Officer Davis had served for four years. He was survived by his wife and two children.
