Hand operated winch from 2nd Welland Canal Lock Gate
Inscription.
This hand operated winch is the last of many used on the 2nd Welland Canal to open and close the wooden lock gates. Capable of hoisting 2½ tons this winch, once located near Clarence Street, was donated by Gary King of Lowbanks in memory of his father Ronald King.
