Muralist Info: Lawrence Atoigue, professionally known as Naturel, is an illustrative based artist who's quickly emerging in today's postmodern scene. His futuristic illustrations have successfully blended methods of Pop and Cubism with a Surrealist vision. Considered an influencer himself with tens of thousands of Instagram fans, his talents have attracted the eyes and support of celebrity clients such as Rihanna, LeBron James, Spike Lee, Swizz Beatz and countless others. Born and raised in Prince Georges County, Maryland, Naturel's work is deeply rooted within today's urban millennial community. After studying Graphic Design at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York, he began a career as a Designer and Art Director for several notable fashion brands. Moving forward after 10 years of industry work, Naturel's craft evolved into the highly sought after fine art paintings and prints that followers are mostly familiar with today.
Project Mission: To bring all the cross sections of the Low Brow world is pleased to announce District Walls. With over 146 murals implemented in the last 9 years and with ongoing success of the Richmond Mural project, Art Whino will be using the power of the mural once again with its focus this time on the Nations Capitol. Washington DC has gone through an amazing renaissance in the last 5 years and this project mission is to add another dimension to the city with this year them of bringing World Renowned abstract muralists. These abstract styles have roots in fine art, graffiti, street art, and abstract geometry meshes them together into some of the most striking murals in the forefront of the mural world. Art Whino will be curating 10 world renowned abstract muralists who will be painting murals through Washington, DC.
