Inscription.
The Archeological Area of Ostia Antica is a place where goods circulated and cultures and religions mingled. As a gateway to Rome, Ostia was a melting pot of the different people living under the Roman Empire and a place with a far-reaching influence on land, across the Mediterranean basin and beyond. Evidence of the trade, the exchanges and the diverse population is still visible today in the mosaic floors, the archeological remains and funeral inscriptions.
The European Heritage Label is attributed to sites with a symbolic European value.

Testimonianze del commercio, degli scambi e della a varietΰ della popolazione sono visibili ancora oggi nei pavimenti a mosaico, nei resti archeologici e nelle iscrizioni funerarie.
