1. Last Massacre In Colorado Springs Marker

Inscription.
September 3, 1868, occurred on this mesa the last massacre, in the Pike's Peak Region, of whites by Indians. The raiders were Arapahoes. Near this spot they killed and scalped Charles Everhart age 17, and a short distance west of Mount Washington, and on the west bank of Shook's Run, they also killed George Robbins, age 11, and Franklin Robbins, age 8.

In memory of these boys this tablet is placed September 3, 1913, by the El Paso County Pioneer Association.
