The dark brown concrete poured at the entry steps represents the previous location of the small building now relocated, 100 feet east with the new address of 212 LaPorte Avenue. The one-story building was designed to hold a creamery laboratory and also used to sell dairy products produced by the Poudre Valley Creamery, which was located a short distantce, behind it to the north. While the large creamery building was demolished in 2010 due to severe deterioration, this small building was designated as a local landmark in 2016 and is celebrated by the Fort Collins community as a rare example of its style., Constructed in 1964, the building was designed in the mid-20th century Googie Style of architecture. This style emerged from Southern California around that time, and was commonly used on small to medium-sized buildings, which were meant to attract the eye with their unusual shapes and bright colors. Prominent on this building are its V-shape ("upswept") cantilevered roof exposed roof beams rectangular decorative wall that projects above the roof, and the use of painted concrete blocks that look like large bricks. To top it off, the building was oriented on a 30-degree diagonal in relation to the standard north-south compass points.
