1. Arlington National Cemetery Marker
Inscription.
Arlington National Cemetery represents the American people for past, present and future generations by laying to rest those few who have served our nation with dignity and honor, while immersing guests in the cemetery's living history.

Approximately 400,000 veterans and their family members lay at rest within these hallowed grounds. We conduct an average of 6,500 funerals and host over 3,000 ceremonies each year, in addition to welcoming around 3-4 million visitors. These 639 acres are also a Level III Arboretum—a living memorial to those who have served and sacrificed.

Arlington represents the diverse history of the United States. Every grave marker contains a story. We invite you to honor, remember and explore the sacrifices and extraordinary lives of American service members and their families.
