The school was built in 1901 and was accredited as a three year high school in 1902.
In 1905, it became a "first grade" four year high school.
It operated as a fully functioning school building until 1991.
In 2001, the site was cleared.
The beautiful stained glass windows on the front of Central School were utilized in the renovated Oak Hill Elementary School Building.
