Original Site of Farmington Municipal Pool
Farmington Municipal Pool began life as a WPA-Works Progress Administration proposal in 1935. And officially opened on July 9, 1937. Construction costs are estimated at $17,993.00. The pool was 120' long by 60' wide with depths ranging from 4.5' to 9.5'. The original cost to enter the pool was 10 cents for children 15 and under and 15 cents for adults. In 1986 additional federal funding was acquired to update the facility. Federal LWCF-Land and water conservation funds secure recreational use at this location in perpetuity.
