The former gatekeeper’s room, originally built around 1450, was converted into a chapel in 1836. The altar was crafted by Adam Schäfer, and the chapel houses four tomb monuments from the 16th century, salvaged from dissolved churches in Bamberg. The very first chapel of the castle was consecrated on May 1, 1124.
