Cecil Bishopp
who died of wounds received during the raid on
Black Rock, New York, July 11, 1813
during the War of 1812.
He was buried in this cemetery on July 17, 1813.
In 1846 Bishopps two sisters erected this memorial
in tribute to, as the inscription on the adjacent crypt reads,
an excellent man and beloved brother.
