In honor of the Merchant Marine who faithfully served their country during W.W. II.
The Merchant Marine provided the greatest sealift in history, delivering 97% of all war supplies and participated in every invasion.
The U.S. Merchant Marine suffered the greatest loss of life ratio of any of the services. 243,000 Merchant Marine served, 9,521 were killed, and 718 were POWs.
God bless the U.S. Merchant Marine and the U.S. Naval Armed Guard who served and died with them.
