1. Hilda Barg Marker
Inscription. Hilda Barg, a lifelong resident of Prince William County, small business owner and active community leaders, was first elected to the Baord of County Supervisors in 1987 and served as Woodbridge District Supervisor for 20 years. A social advocate, she motivated the Transportation and Planning Board, Virginia Association of Counties, Virginia Railway Express, Potomac Hospital, Girl Scouts, Prince William Boys and Girls Club, The ARC of Prince William, and numerous other civic and government organizations toward improving human services in Prince William County. Her efforts to address homelessness, by linking the Cooperative Council of Ministries and the Northern Virginia Builders Association, was rewarded in 1990 when the Hilda Barg Homeless Prevention Center opened in Woodbridge. She has received many accolades and awards including having a locomotive named after her.
