The Bureau of Reclamation welcomes you to Hoover Dam, one of the exceptional engineering achievements of the 20th Century.

Hoover Dam and Lake Mead have provided a reliable supply of water and affordable electricity to the people of the Southwest since the 1930s. The growth of great American cities like Los Angeles would not have been possible without the dam. Nor would the irrigated farmlands of the region - which supply 80% of Americans' winter fruits and vegetables - have been able to produce such bounty.

We hope you enjoy your visit to one of America's truly special places.

Did you know?
Artist Allen Tupper True based the inlays in the floor inside the dam on designs created by Southwest Indian Tribes. Hoover Dam is one of the first Industrial structures in the U.S. to be enhanced with Native American Symbols.
