This Scenic View of Martins Creek Viaduct also connects with other events on the Eastern boundary of Brooklyn Township. Bloomfield Milbourne and his friend Prince Perkins came through about 1793. The Milford Owego Turnpike started in 1809. Prince's friend, Bristol Budd Sampson, another veteran of Valley Forge, came about 1810 and purchased acreage along the Turnpike in 1814. The Underground Railroad became active about 1830. The D.L.&W. Railroad Station opened at Oakley Crossing (now Rte. 11) about 1851 and the Viaduct was completed in 1914.
