1. Dennis Farmhouse Marker
Inscription.
You are now standing before the west side of the house, or as the family called it, "the back," that entered onto the den. Views from the west windows looked onto the apple orchard, some of which survives today, and the farm's luxuriant, wooded hillside.

In the years following the renovation, guests visited the Dennis Family throughout the summer savoring the beautiful, pastoral setting and the family's gracious living.

A grassy driveway from Creek Road, passed the north side and curved to the back of the house where family and guests parked their cars on the lawn, as you see in this [top right] photo.

In this [center bottom] photo, you can see Norman Henry Dennis (1898-1976), Sumner B. Dennis' son, posing at the back of the house shortly before renovation work began. Norman H. Dennis spent his boyhood summers on the farm working with his uncle, Perkins William "Will" Dennis (1853-1918). "From the time I was a small child, Norman H. Dennis taught me the history of our family and the farm," said M. Denise Dennis, co-Founder of the Dennis Farm Charitable Land Trust.
