Inscription.
This tablet recounts the key event that led to Daniel Boone's adoption by the Shawnee at "Old Chillicothe." Daniel Boone was captured on February 7, 1778, and was later adopted and lived as a part of the community at "Old Chillicothe" until June 16, 1778.
 
Erected 2024 by Great Council State Park.
