Cuthbert in Randolph County, Georgia — The American South (South Atlantic)
1929 American LaFrance Fire Truck
The City of Cuthbert purchased the 1929 American LaFrance soon after it first came on the market. The truck was instrumental during the Patterson Hospital Fire in 1946. The truck was housed in the fire station on Court Street and used by the Cuthbert Fire Department until 1971 when the City of Cuthbert donated it to the Randolph County Fire and Rescue Squad. Retired from service, the truck was repainted and used in parades for a number of years. On loan from the Randolph County Fire and Rescue Squad, the truck was partially restored by members of the Dixie Auto Club.
