1. Maxine Bixler Marker
Maxine volunteered and was an officer at the food pantry and Neighborhood Center in Harrisburg. She gave her time to New Cumberland's Apple Festival and led community Sunday morning devotionals in her 70s and 80s. By education and trade, Maxine was a librarian and helped build the first library at Hillside Elementary School. For 19 years, she was a fixture at the New Cumberland Library's Foundation House as a passionate volunteer. Her steadfast faith and commitment to all that she embarked upon endeared her to the many. Her selfless devotion to serving others greatly exceeded the norm.
Maxine Bixler's life of giving was unrivaled in our community and thus, she is awarded a place on THE PATH OF LEADERSHIP at The Peiffer Memorial Arboretum and Nature Preserve, August 3, 2025.
