1. Glaser Woodworking Shop Marker

Inscription. This cottage building was erected about 1860 on Laws Road and donated by Lester Shockley in 1997. The Eastern Shore Chapter of Associated Builders & Contractors and the Snow Hill Soroptimists cooperated in moving the structure to Furnace Town. the 1998 renovations converted the two rooms on both floors into single large rooms. The 1st floor now houses the tool collection donated by Ernest R. Glaser of Snow Hill, which includes woodworking tools from the 1880s to the 1970s. Many of the hand tools in this collection are like those used by George R. Richardson, the local carpenter who constructed many of the original Furnace Town buildings. The 2nd floor lofts once housed migrant workers.
