Historic Specimen
For over 60 years, three large hemlocks have grown together to form a distinctive mounded shape. Planted in the 1960s, they are among the oldest specimen trees in the Gardens and are a rare example of the mounding variety. With one trunk measuring 11 inches in diameter, they rank among the largest of their kind in the state.

Please help us care for these unique trees by staying outside the branches and off their roots.
