From its beginning; Ford City has had numerous clubs and organizations. Be they Beneficial, Fraternal, Civic, Labor, Patriotic, or Religious, they all had the goals of helping one another, building a better Ford City, and building a better world.

Many of the clubs, in the early 1900's, gave each member a decorative ribbon to wear. These ribbons served a number of purposes. Members would wear them to local events, state and national conventions, and to fellow members' funerals. Most ribbons had the back side done up in black to be worn as they went through the mourning process. Today, most of the organizations have gone to a much smaller lapel type pin instead of the ribbons which sometimes reached eleven inches in length.
