Pump House Well No. 2 sits next to a 150 million gallon water tank. when the navy acquired the peninsula, it drilled a number of deep wells to supply water, causing shallower wells in Solomons to dry up, a source of contention for local residents. An average of 960,000 gallons of water was pumped and consumed every 24 hours.
