The Island Creek 18 was designed and built by boatbuilder George Surgent of St. Leonard, Maryland. The 18-foot centerboard sloop was based on the design of a traditional South Jersey beach skiff, but with a fiberglass hull with wooden mast, boom, and trim. A total of twelve Island Creek 18 hulls were built using the original mold, including this one in 1980.
