1. Keough’s Hot Springs Marker
The geothermal spring water has been used for recreational and healing purposes for many years. Established in 1919, Phillip Keough envisioned the hot springs as a first class health resort. During it's heyday in the 1920's & 30's, the resort served as a chief social institution in the Owens Valley. It hosted picnics, swim events, dances and boxing matches. Richard and Liz Denniss completed renovations in 1955, while preserving its historic standing in the area.
In 1998, the Brown Family of Bishop purchased the resort, revitalizing it as a premiere recreational destination in the Eastern Sierra.
