4. Soldiers' & Sailor's Monument

in Lawrence.

Regarding Soldiers' & Sailor's Monument. The three figures at the base of the monument present a soldier, a sailor, and a cavalryman. The bronze plaques include the names of the 225 men from Lawrence who died in the Civil War. Sumner Needham was one of the first of these men. He died on April 19, 1861
