812 Delta Avenue. . , Erick Segersten immigrated from Sweden in 1890 and settled in Gladstone in 1895. He purchased property on Dakota Avenue and built a home where he and his wife Ida (Benson) raised six children. Mr. Segersten worked as a blacksmith in the Buckeye before he opened a Music Store at 812 Delta Avenue. After Mr. Segersten passed away in 1918, the building was then occupied by Charles LaCroix. , , Mr. LaCroix was born in Canada in 1872 and came to Gladstone at an early age. He sold and repaired bicycles in this location and later added motorcycles. , , Anita (Rosenbloum) Lewis was born in Gladstone in 1909. After graduation she enrolled at the University of Michigan at the age of 16. She later met and married Seymour Lewis from Chicago. They settled in Gladstone in 1943. Mr. Lewis established a lady's dress shop in this location. Mr. Lewis was very community minded and became a Rotarian, president of the Chamber of Commerce and belonged to both the Yacht and Golf Club. Mr. Lewis died at a very young age of 42 years. , , Anita took over the shop and developed one of the most successful dress shops in the area. People came from all over the U.P. to shop there. Mrs. Seymour was such an important part of the community. She served on the U.P. Library Board, Chamber of Commerce the Child Welfare Board and the distinguished committee that established Bay de Noc Community College. Anita Seymour passed away in 1979. , , This beautiful building was lost in one of Delta Avenues many fires.
