Established in 1921 by Marie Louise and Wm. C. Parcher. It was one of the first summer resorts started on the east side of the Sierra Nevada mtns.

Established in 1925 by Harry and Warren Halliday (father and son). It was one of the first pack outfits started on the east side of the Sierra Nevada mtns.
These businesses are still in operation today and both were active in developing the country around the head waters of the south fork of Bishop Creek. Many of the lakes in that region were discovered and named by these original owners. They helped make possible the stocking of trout in most of the lakes and streams.
